25.02.2015 – In one of MPUBS’ Sessions during our, T&T February Seminar, “The Principles of Salafiyyah & The Distinguishing Characteristics of The Salafi,” our teacher and elder Abu Hakeem Bilaal Davis (may Allah preserve him) was asked about using the name “Shaykh” and the accusation that the salafis exaggerate in criticizing those who misuse the title. Our brother Abu Hakeem expounded on the difference between using it as a term of endearment or using it to elevate someone due to his knowledge.
